MyMediTrek was
initially conceived of and built for two women that were in the
life of the CEO of the company, Michael D Cook.
Case #1 - Michael's Mother
:
Michael's mother has struggled for years with a myriad of health
issues, seeking consultation from many doctors in multiple
cities. She has had trouble keeping accurate details from
the different specialists, the many prescriptions and the
different insurances that have come with the natural progression
through life.
In addition, the design of the program had to
be simple enough as to not be intimidating because she is not as
proficient on the computer as others.
MyMediTrek was built so
that anybody with minimal Microsoft Windows skills can navigate
and work with the program.

Case #2 - Co-Worker:
Michael also worked with a woman in her late
50's who had a couple of health issues arise. Due to the
nature of these issues, she was seeing different doctors who
were prescribing different prescriptions. She filled the
prescriptions at different pharmacies out of convenience, not
realizing the possibility of harmful drug interactions.
The unfortunate ending to this story is that
the prescriptions did in fact interact negatively and put her
into kidney failure. She died within two months.
During those two months, Michael would go visit her and he
shared the concept of
MyMediTrek
with her. Knowing she did not have a good chance for a
long life, she told Michael that not only should he pursue the
development, but that he had to - she told him, "it could have
saved my life".
It is in her memory that development has been
dedicated.
